NEWNHAM Real Estate For SALE
NEWNHAM is one of Launceston's northern most suburbs located approximately 10 minutes drive from Launceston's CBD. On the eastern side of the Tamar River, NEWNHAM has excellent access to the city via the East Tamar Highway or George Town Road.
NEWNHAM is a mostly residential area with the majority it's homes varying from older-style brick and tile to large modern double storey family homes. Various parks and reserves are dotted amongst the streets of NEWNHAM making it one of Launceston's most family oriented suburbs.
Over the past few years, as new sub divisions have been opened up, NEWNHAM has grown both in size and popularity. Numerous homes throughout the NEWNHAM area have views of the Tamar River and valley.
According to the Real Estate Institute of Tasmania, the median sales price of homes in the NEWNHAM area for the 2010 March quarter was $250,000, which has not changed from the previous year.
Both the University of Tasmania and the Australian Maritime College have a campus in NEWNHAM. Other schools in the area include Rocherlea Primary School, a Tasmanian Government Primary School that caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 6, and Brooks High School, a Tasmanian Government Secondary School that caters for students from Year 7 to Year 11.
