RIVERSIDE Real Estate For SALE
RIVERSIDE is a residential suburb approximately 4 kilometres north-west of the central business district of Launceston. The West Tamar Highway runs through the suburb, adjoining RIVERSIDE to the West Tamar, which includes small towns like Legana, Exeter, and Beauty Point. RIVERSIDE is part of the West Tamar Council local government area, despite its close proximity to the Launceston CBD.
The main shopping facility, the RIVERSIDE Shopping Centre includes a supermarket, bakery, bottle shop and a pharmacist. Directly across the road is a local butcher and newsagency.
There are several schools in the RIVERSIDE area including two Tasmanian Government Schools, RIVERSIDE Primary School which caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 6, and RIVERSIDE High School which caters for students from Year 7 to Year 10. Launceston Christian School is a co-educational Christian School that caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 12. St Anthony's school is a co-educational Catholic Primary School that caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 6.
The RIVERSIDE Golf Club provides an 18 hole golf course, club house catering facilities and pro shop.
The RIVERSIDE pool is the home of the RIVERSIDE Aquatic Swimming Squad. It consists of an outside 33 metre public swimming pool, juniors and toddlers paddling pool, and water slide.
Along the course of the highway there is an Aussie rules football ground named Windsor Park which is home to the Launceston Football Club, a soccer ground which is home to RIVERSIDE Olympic as well as a cricket grounds.
RIVERSIDE contains a wide range of buildings, with older brick and weatherboard style homes prominent along the West Tamar Highway and area's closer to the city, while more modern homes are located in the western and northern areas.
According to the Real Estate Institute of Tasmania, the median sales price of homes in the RIVERSIDE area for the 2010 March quarter was $310,000, up 9.7 per cent from the previous year.
